Aritram School
A Waldorf Inspired Learning SpaceAre you looking for a holistic approach to educating your child physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially and spiritually. Aritram provides a nurturing, joyful and media free ambience with a dynamic curriculum which integrates arts in all academic discipline. We are a strong community of families that have come together to set up this school and are actively engaged in the running of the school.
The Waldorf Approach
At Aritram we follow the Waldorf philosophy. Waldorf education grows out of the work of Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925), an Austrian scientist, philosopher, architect, and educator who founded the first Waldorf School in Stuttgart, Germany in 1919. It is a rich, time-tested approach to education whose popularity continues to grow. Today, there are more than 1,200 Waldorf schools and an additional 1,200 early childhood centers across six continents. In a strong endorsement of the education, Waldorf schools are particularly popular among parents who work in Silicon Valley’s high-tech industry. Waldorf graduates across the world are sought by universities and are leaders dedicated to positively impacting the world in the fields which they are in.
Academics
We offer an experiential and academically rigorous approach to education. Our education is deeply aligned with the development of the human being and that which helps individuals to cultivate clear and free thinking and builds a foundation for successful life-long learning. The skills, knowledge, and attitudes that children acquire through this approach will serve them well in all aspects of life, from academic achievement to personal and professional success.
Programs
Kindergarten (Ages 2.5-6)
At Aritram, children of mixed ages are provided with a nurturing and gentle kindergarten experience. The older children act as caretakers and guides for the younger ones, who are inspired by them. The environment is designed to be warm and home-like, where children can learn through imitating everyday life. They participate in activities such as free play, cooking, cleaning, crafting, sewing, and organic gardening. Daily outdoor time and story time are also incorporated to help the children develop their movement and stillness capabilities. The teacher uses rhythm, repetition, and reverence to create a holistic learning experience for the young students.
